Baku Marathon 2026 is starting!

On May 3, at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, we are launching the Baku Marathon!

The Baku Marathon aims to support the development of sports and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Held for the ninth time under the slogan “Win the Wind”, the Baku Marathon will, for the first time this year, be organized over a 42-kilometer distance. The race will start at State Flag Square and finish at Sea Breeze.

The 42km 195 m Baku Marathon will follow this route: State Flag Square → Baku Boulevard → Baku International Sea Port → Neftchilar Avenue → Baku White City Boulevard → 8 November Avenue → Yusif Safarov Street → Sevgi Park → Heydar Aliyev Avenue → BAKU Arena → Great Silk Road Street → Muzaffar Narimanov Street → Ziya Bunyadov Avenue → Boyukshor Street → Boyukshor Bridge → Balakhani Roundabout → Boyukshor–Pirshagi Road → Baku Ring Road (Bilgah–Pirshagi Highway) → Sea Breeze.

The participation fee for individuals is 20 AZN.

Corporate participants (minimum 10 participants per company) must pay 100 AZN per participant.

Students do not have to pay, as their participation fee is covered by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Corporate participants can register by emailing [email protected] and applying for participation in the Baku Marathon.

Individuals aged 18 and above can register between January 21 and April 25 at registration points in shopping malls in Baku (28 Mall, Ganjlik Mall, Deniz Mall) or on the official Baku Marathon 2026 website (marathon.az).

During registration, participants must fill out the application form, provide a copy of their ID card (students must also provide a copy of their student ID), and pay the required fee.

By following the official Facebook and Instagram pages of “Baku Marathon 2026,” you can prepare for the marathon at a professional level. These pages will provide daily training plans and nutrition guidelines.

Participants are advised to limit their personal belongings.
The start point of the Baku Marathon – 2026 is State Flag Square, and the finish point is Sea Breeze. Participants may choose where to leave their items (either at the start or finish zone) when handing them over.
Only marathon participants may leave items at the designated baggage zones.
When leaving your items, a sticker will be attached to each item. This sticker, along with your marathon number, will be provided to you before the event. Please make sure that the sticker is securely attached before leaving your items at the baggage zone.
Depending on your choice at the time of drop-off, participants can collect their items either at the finish line at Sea Breeze after completing the route, or at the start zone if they leave the race before finishing.
Items must be dropped off no later than 09:00 on the race day and collected no later than 21:00 the same day.

The Baku Marathon 2026 will have two award categories. Male and female participants will compete for the top 3 places in the race track category. In each men's and women's category: 1st place will receive 3 000 AZN, 2nd place will receive 2 000 AZN, 3rd place will receive 1 000 AZN. They will also receive gifts, medals, and certificates. Additionally, awards will be presented in the following special categories: First student to cross the finish line (sponsored by “Gənc ol” Azercell), Oldest participant to finish the race, First corporate participant to finish the race. Moreover, the first 2,000 participants to cross the finish line will receive a medal.
